"Each day you wake up, go to your same boring job, do the same thing, bitch about the same person then come home watch the same junk on netflix and then do it all again"
So we have all been there.... we have all been lost, feeling useless, stuck in the rut of doing the same shit every day and don't feel like we are growing & evolving. It sucks right?
SO HOW DO WE MAKE LIFE MORE FULFILLING & NOT SHIT?
1) Take full responsibility for your life.
We are the only ones stopping ourselves from creating our dream life. Us weird humans often blame others for why we aren't where we want to be in life. It's always someone else's fault - the government, or our bosses, or our friends uncles cats husbands pet fish. YES totally... it is their fault you didn't work out this morning, or its their fault that you didn't choose to keep trying when you got rejected or failed once.
The moment I started to take full responsibility for everything that has happened in my life good & bad - I really started to LIVE. Yes it sucks not blaming others, but if you truly want to excel in life you need to hold yourself accountable. Why? Because this means you will find a way. Find a way to chase that dream, achieve that goal because you have got no one to blame if you don't achieve it.
This means you keep trying and trying until you find a pathway which works to get there - because lets be honest no one wants to rock up to their high school reunion and say 'yeah well..... I could of been a rockstar... but you know my Aunt Cheryl sold my Guitar on Ebay, so yeah I tried, but ohhh well.... that's why I work in finance now.' (btw nothing wrong with finance if that's why you're into)
2) Get out of your own way & stop comparing yourself to others.
We create stories in our head that people are going to judge us if we do something different which stops us from doing something we love or want to do - but then we get on social media and wish we had Joe Blows life from Instagram........ Joe Blow only has that life now because:
a) He stopped caring what others thought about him & decided to rip the bandaid off and build the life he wanted.
or
b) His life isn't really like that (sorry if there is someone named Joe Blow reading this...please don't take offence) - he just wants others to think his living the dream.... think about it, if you only ever uploaded the best bits of your life to a page all the hoildays you went on, all the things you saw etc everyone would look at it and be like 'dannnnng this gal lives an epic life' (This is a classic case of social media is a lie syndrome - because MOST people only ever show the best parts of them and their lives - like your tinder profile pictures probably?)
It isn't our fault, we are conditioned from when we were young to think this. To truly live a fulfilling life you need to not worry about what others are going to think. I know its easier said then done but the people who are judging us are the ones that have their own problems. You don't want to be sitting on your death bed saying 'I wonder what would of happened if I chased that dream and didn't stop until I achieved it' I bet ya then you would give zero fucks about old mate from school judging you because you are starting up your own knitting business.
3) Find your passion which then creates your purpose.
This is huge...... Have you ever heard people talk about their purpose in life? Most peoples purpose in life is to help others - some might be to help others by being an amazing nurse at the local hospital or anothers might be to help someone to learn to knit. They are both still helping people. Most people don't know though your purpose is connected to your passion.
EXAMPLE: Passion > Knitting
Purpose > Showing others how to knit.
That is all there is to it. Ill give you another example (which is mine):
EXAMPLE: Passion > Adventure, Fun, Not Living The Mediocre Life
Purpose > Showing others they don't have to settle for the mediocre life either.
Or if we want to resort back to my other passion to purpose
EXAMPLE: Passion > Sustainability, Travel, Experiences, Building
Purpose > Building Tiny Houses so people can come enjoy time away from work & disconnect from technology to reconnect with their partners.
Do you get the picture? Write down now all your passions and how they become your purpose which then potentially can turn into profit. WIN WIN WIN. Do it now then you really start to build your solid foundations for taking your life to the next level.
4) Create goals but learn to enjoy the ride & embrace failure.
If you know me.... I preach a lot about failure being good (maybe because I fail a lot so I want to feel better about myself hahahaha) no but seriously I LOVE FAILING and this goes back to enjoying the ride.
YES set a goal - but don't go down the path of saying 'Ill be happy when this happens' 'Ill be happy when I have more money' etc and this is something I learnt from Tony Robbins.
WHY NOT BE HAPPY NOW? I'm like holy smokes....mind blown!!!! So from that moment I processed this simple but new this piece of information that I can be truly happy and live a fulfilling life now my life changed... We have to make sure we enjoy the ride - enjoy what the universe throws at us because it is either a lesson or a blessing so that's why when I fail I think 'SWEET MAN - I know that isn't the right way to do it, or I need to go about it in a different direction but what have I learnt?' If we don't enjoy working our way to this goal or so call 'dream life' we have wasted 99% our time.
